New "Milestone"

...and I was not ready for this one. Its the temper tantrum! I mean, seriously, I thought we had a little while longer for this one. But alas, I was wrong.

The first time it happened we were at the Target check out line and he was hanging on to a toy I was buying and when I took it from him for the guy to scan it he let out a big scream until he got it back. I mean, it was a pretty awesome toy and all, but he has never been attached to something enough before to care if you borrow it from him.

And then, just to show that it wasn't a fluke, later that night he did it again when I took his mesh feeder away from him to refill it with frozen watermelon pieces. Only this time he was sort of laying down so he did a full on thrash with the leg kick. I guess he loves his watermelon, just like his momma!

First Father's Day

Doug had his first real Father's Day today! He got to sleep in a little and then, per his request, had Starbucks and Jack in the Box breakfast in bed. (It seems my breakfast cooking skills aren't up to snuff I guess!) After that he opened his presents and he got a Lacoste polo and hat, a Harley Davidson hoodie, and a hot stone massage.

(Seriously, its not easy to get a picture with Milo and Bella both still and looking at the camera nowadays - they are too busy playing with each other!)

(Kidding! We went to Outback for dinner but the line was crazy so we waited in the car and got to go.)

6 Months Old!

Height: 27.75" (90%)
Weight: 19 lbs 7.25 oz (80%)
Dear Milo -

You turned 6 months old this week! I can't even believe it - a half a year old! It seems like just yesterday you were the little peanut coming home from the hospital that didn't do much besides eat and sleep, and now here you are a little dude with your very own personality, and likes and dislikes. You have no problem letting us know when you want or don't want something, or when you are bored, happy, or anything in between. I think you have spent entire days at some points this month communicating only is squeals or raspberries, for all emotions. I think the mad raspberries are my favorite!
As far as milestones go, you learned to sit up all by yourself this month! It happened so fast - one day you were toppling immediately and the next you were sitting up all by yourself, no hands! You also found your thumb this month. You've been sucking and biting on your fingers and hands since day 1 but now that you have your thumb your hands are always in your mouth. You've given up your binky pretty much entirely as well, which really suprised me! Its probably because of this thumb sucking development. I still keep one in my diaper bag and near your crib but you have zero interest in it. Those pesky teeth still haven't come in, and so your gums bother you sometimes, but I think it will be any day now!

For food this month you have tried so many new things:
  • sweet potatoes
  • apples
  • pears
  • peas
  • pumpkin
  • zucchini
  • baby oatmeal
  • mango
  • carrots
  • peaches
  • spinach
  • puffs
  • freeze dried fruit crisps
The only thing you aren't a big fan of is peas, but like green beans, you will still eat them if we give them to you with something good. I hope you are always such an easy going eater! As far as the puffs and crisps go, you like to play with them, and you like eating them, but you have yet to figure out how to get them from your hand to your mouth so we help you out still. Your almost there though, I think they just get stuck to your hands with drool and it throws you off!
You are so much fun and playful nowadays and you love to flirt with people when we are out and about as long as you aren't overtired. Much like your mom and dad though, you can be pretty crabby when you're tired! You don't fight your naps anymore, however you still don't like to take them in your crib. You nap much better on the couch or our bed, especially when I lay down with you for a little bit. But I can't complain because you still sleep great all night long!
Its been a great month and we love you more and more each day. We can't wait to see what you have in store for us next month.
