Mom and Baby Yoga!

On our 2nd try we finally made it to a Mom and Baby Yoga class! The first try was a total cluster. It was in West Seattle and there was rain, parking issues, and it all ended with me standing outside in the front of the building (it was above a restaurant) and not being able to find the door to get in to that part of the building. We gave up and went home!

So later that week I found a class in the 'burbs and it was fantastic! It was 90 minutes long and if any babies were fussy the teacher would hold them. Milo was really good the whole time. Mostly laying next to me but with the teacher for a few minutes. At one point I was doing the yoga poses over him to keep him entertained, but it worked! At the end of the class there was a
time to share and the teacher brought in Mothers Healing Tea (or something like that) and a treat.

The teacher was great, and the other ladies in the class were really nice. And as a bonus, I was glad to see they had normal postpartum bodies like me - not unrealistically skinny! Oh and weirdly enough, all the babies in the class were right around Milo's age, one little girl even shared his birthday!

I am so happy to say we have found our new Thursday activity. Up next, we are trying out a Stroller Strides class this coming week. I am determined to be in real clothes by spring!

Don't hate me but...

Milo consistently sleeps 7-8 hours a night for the first stretch, and then usually another 3 hours after that. He's been doing it for a few weeks. There I said it. Its my blog and I'll brag if I want to!
And also, here he is holding his own bottle for a minute or 2 here and there. What a smarty pants!

2 Months Old!

11 lbs 13.5 oz (50%)
24.25 in (90%)

Dear Milo,

You turned 2 months old yesterday and I can't believe how time is flying by! It has been such an eventful month for you. You started smiling and laughing this month, which just makes my heart melt instantly. You are going to be such a ladies man someday with that smile! You have really found your voice and make all kinds of cute sounds. Of course now when you get upset you also are so much louder! Also you now just love to get your diaper changed to and to be naked, which is a fantastic change from the screaming you used to do! Sometimes getting your diaper changed is the funniest thing in the world to you now!
One of your biggest changes this month was that you had to move you into your crib in your own room at night because you have grown out of your bassinet already. It couldn't have gone better! You took to your crib immediately and started sleeping through the night right away. We get at least 5 hours of continuous sleep, though now it is more like 6+. We have really lucked out in that department!

Out in the world our first black president was inaugurated into office this month. We watched the coverage all day long and I am so happy that in your lifetime having a black president isn't going to be a big deal. It will just be life!

Two months down already and life is so good!

How to Soothe a Fussy Baby, Lesson 1

Obviously for this technique to work the dryer has to be on!
You're welcome.

Pike Place

Since today was going to be the last sunny day for a while we took Milo and Bella to the Pike Place public market. Can't you tell how much fun Milo had?Obviously since it was his first time here he had to pose in front of the pig!
By the way, how weird and unfortunate is it that my sneakers happen to match my jacket exactly?! Yikes! I really have to remember to watch out for that from now on.
